Your first visit to the gynaecologist
The first visit to a gynecologist is very important.
In most cases, it is done after a woman has started her sex life, but it can also start earlier if you want to be informed about your womanhood.
A discussion with the gynecologist will definitely solve all your questions, insecurities or fears. You will have the opportunity to ask your doctor for your body changes, the different ways of contraception for sexually transmitted diseases, the precautions you have to take, the Pap test etc. The gynecologist will give you the right advice about having a healthy sex life and also provide you with all the necessary information about the human papilloma virus (HPV), in case that you have not been vaccinated by a pediatrician. So do not hesitate to ask him any questions you may have. In order to be sure you won’t forget anything, note all your questions on paper.
Your first visit to the gynecologist should be scheduled sooner if you experience any problems, if you notice strange colored vaginally discharges and odor, if you have persistent abdominal pains, and generally if you observe anything strange or out of the ordinary.
