Quick snacks while reading
Small quick “snacks” while reading
Maria Skoura
During puberty, adolescents spend most of their time in reading, especially when doing their homework. A productive reading suggests the brain is constantly provided with energy in order to absorb the information.
The best way to enhance brain performance is having snacks of high nutritional value (vitamins, minerals) and low in calories, to avoid gaining weight. It is also important these snacks to be easily prepared.
Here’s a list of snacks that can give you everything your body needs, during reading. You can choose between:
• 1 small nougat with honey
• 1 slice bread with honey
• 1 handful of dry fruit and 1 fresh fruit
• 3-4 dry fruit
• 1/2 yoghurt with honey and few walnuts
• 60-80gr. black chocolate
• 1 small sesame bread
• 1 slice homemade cake
• 1 small rice pudding
• Fruit salad
• Fresh fruit juice and a cereal bar
• 2-3 crackers with spread cheese
• 1 small piece of pie
• 2-3 breadsticks
• Boiled egg with 1 rusk
• A small toast with cheese and turkey
• Tortigia with vegetables-corn and cheese
• A slice of bread with peanut butter
• A slice of bread with sesame paste and honey
All the above mentioned meals can stimulate the brain during reading and support the intellectual activity.
